Originally educated in medieval literature and book conservation, books and stories have been at the centre of my life. 
While I was puzzling to decipher medieval languages during my studies, my private life became a language puzzle too, when I found a foreign partner and I had to translate our Dutch life for him everyday.
When we took our life abroad I decided to make languages my job, and for several years I worked as English teacher in Japan, while raising our multi-lingual family.
After moving back to the Netherlands I started as an independent linguist and I specialize in audiovisual translations. Subjects that are close to my heart are Japan, arts, conservation, cooking and entertainment. I am an experienced subtitle translator and open for interesting projects.
