Bio
I started developing my language skills when I first entered the
field of Journalism and Communication in 2012. I fell in love with the art of language
(written and spoken) when I started taking my translation classes. It tough me
a lot on the varying methods of translation techniques. I started my
professional carries working on my journalism field in a South Africa based
Media known as Construction Review. As an Ethiopian correspondent, I started
polishing my journalistic articles, that required accuracy and appealing
translations- since most of my interviewees spoke in Amharic. I then got into a
local media, Eminence magazine with a similar practice of sharpening my Amharic
to English and vise-versa translation and interpretation experience.
Later, I pursued my communication field where I got to work for
the two biggest advertising agencies in Addis Ababa, building my way up from a Copy
Writer to a Senior Copy Writer. My job required creating the most creative
communication ideas to bring a company's reputation up a notch. My ideas would
be crafted in Amharic or English or both, depending on the client preferences. Working
with big international clients like LSHT (The London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine), TBWA, Nutrimental, TM and Corbeitte Geothermal, Unilever and
prominent national clients including Zemen Bank, Dashen Beer, Jano Beer, Guder
Wine, Noah Real estate, Tomoca Coffee, M-birr, Commercial Bank, East Africa
Training House and alike helped me not only experience in translating work but
also understanding my clients and achieving their needs. From ATL, BTL, TTL,
Company Profiles, Website Contents, Branding, Taglines to 360 Campaigns I have
covered it all.
By working with me not only will you benefit from quality work but
also met objectives. Anyone can translate from on language to another if both
language is understood by the individual, nonetheless the art of translation
dwells on the quality of transporting the same feel, context and message from
one language to the other language without losing the oomph due to cultural or
lingual expression gap.
Understanding the client and the objectives is vital to achieve excellence
in translation, thus I do believe with my years of experience not only in translating
but creating big ideas for marketing campaigns in addition to illustration
works (working with visual art using storyboards and sketches to communicate
ideas) makes me eligible to carry out your project promptly and with due
diligence followed by pleasing outcomes.
