Bio

Four years working as a freelance translator and over two decades experience of checking and editing texts written in or translated into English. Over nineteen years years working as a CELTA, Cert IBET qualified English Language Teacher (now predominantly freelance). 

Introduction to Translation course (International House Barcelona in 2015-2016), preparatory courses for the CIOL IoLET Level 7 Diploma in Spanish>English Translation at IH Barcelona and The Translator's Studio, 2016-2017, 2020-2021. Diploma in Travel (London School of Journalism, 2007). 

Around 17 years living Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Peru) and consistently working on my Spanish during that time.

Translation projects undertaken include written correspondence and online content for a group of online classical music companies and a local talent agency and events management company, translations of medical industry presentations for a Medical Director of Juaneda Healthcare Network, nutrition literature (book extract sample for publication in English) business (construction industry website and works contracts for Munditubo Scaffolding), academic articles (abstracts for Masters theses in biochemistry and education, a PhD presentation on healthcare statistics) and job applications.

Proofreading and editing jobs include academic articles in the fields of geography, town planning, sociology, biology, psychology, nutrition, war studies, medicine and sections of postgraduate theses for various clients.

Copywriting and transcreation jobs include web content for Do Localize and Do Outsource LTD, online course content and SEO content for British Accent Course, slogans for the World University Games 2020 and recruitment material for Talentocientífico.

I have taught English at some of the world's top language schools including Wimbledon School of English, St Clare's School, Etherton Education and OISE Central London in the UK and the University of the Balearic Islands and the Hospitality School of the Balearic Islands in Spain.
