I grew up in a bilingual environment (French and English) with an added exposure to Spanish because my mother, who was born in Mexico, did not know Canada's official languages upon arrival. My father worked overseas, bringing the whole family with him, and I learnt to speak Spanish fluently in Honduras and Guatemala, since we lived there for five years. When I was ready for university, I moved to Vancouver and studied Natural Resource Conservation for four years. After this, I continued living in British Columbia, Canada, for a total of fifteen years. I planted trees for a living, and also worked as photographer and journalist for student and community newspapers. When I moved back to Quebec, I studied translation (French (and Spanish) to English. I am now working as a nurse's assistant, and also as a clerk in a health food market.
