1. la décision d'investissement, et particulièrement la façon d'évaluer la pertinence et le rendement prévisibles des décisions d’investissement ;
2. la décision de financement, c'est-à-dire l'optimisation de la structure financière des firmes et les voies d'amélioration des conditions de leur financement ;
Translation - English Corporate Finance
Corporate finance, or financial management, is the field of finance relating to financial decisions of companies. Its main aim is the analysis and “maximisation of the company’s value for its shareholders over time”. More precisely, the challenge is to optimise the monetary value of future profits (relative to a reference timeframe) while limiting the risks incurred. Along with public finance and private finance, it is one of the three main areas of finance. Historically, its practice has been closely associated with securing bank financing and increasingly to that of market financing.
The practice of corporate finance therefore combines an external view of the company (that of its lenders, investors or intermediaries such as investment banks) with an internal view (that of the directors whose internal management decisions determine its financial value).
The main areas covered by corporate finance are:
1. Investment decisions, particularly how to assess the relevance and predicted return on investments;
2. Financing decisions, meaning the optimisation of the financial structure of companies and ways to improve their financing;
3. The remuneration policy regarding capital providers, specifically and most often the conduct to be adopted regarding the payment of dividends.
