Bio
Born in Buenos Aires to an English speaking family I grew up speaking both English and Spanish fluently. Although I was always interested in languages and studied French and Portuguese at school, it wasn't until after finishing university, where I studied Politics and Development Studies that I discovered my vocation. While working at foundation dedicated to promoting knowledge about indigenous American people I was asked to help with the subtitles to a documentary they were producing. This project opened up a whole new world for me where I discovered a new passion, translation. Fine tuning my understanding and finding the right words to capture the correct nuance is, for me, a fascinating process, demanding both technique and creativity.
I also teach English as a Foreign Language, which not only keeps me on my toes in terms of grammar but also gives me an opportunity to broaden my vocabulary, as I have had the opportunity to teach students working in a broad range of activities, such as architecture, banking, marketing and art history.
I specialise in general translations, social sciences and humanities. I also proofread translations, particularly subtitles.
