Bio
Experienced translator and interpreter based in Madrid (Spain), accredited by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK) since 2006, and with ample experience in the academic, publishing and media sectors.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and translate and interpret English to Spanish and Spanish to English, with additional experience in German to Spanish and German to English translation. I am committed to high professional standards to ensure on-time delivery of projects and that content is always accurate and language tailored to the specific target audience. I have lived both in the US and the UK and have therefore experience working with both English variants (US and UK).
My life has revolved around languages and the ability to move between different ones from a young age. At home, in Madrid, I would catch Catalan words here and there when I heard my father speaking to my uncle, and learned to translate easily between Castilian and Catalan. At school, I started learning German in kindergarten. After finishing my secondary education at the German School of Madrid, I moved to New York in the US, and a few year later, to London in the UK, where I received my official accreditation as a translator from the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I have not only lived and worked in English-speaking countries for over 25 years, I also studied for my PhD in London and worked there as a university lecturer.
I have over 19 years experience as a translator and interpreter and always approach my work with professionalism, attention to detail, and high standards. I have a particular interest and experience in the fields of art and culture, journalism, advertising, marketing and communications, education, training and pedagogy, medicine and mental health, tourism and travel.
