Minister for Internal Affairs: Honourable Speaker, since it is my first time to stand before you in this honourable house since my appointment by the Honourable President to hold this post, I request your permission to express my sincere gratitude to the honourable Ministers and Members of Parliament who have congratulated me by letter, Telex, Telegrams, phone calls and by word of mouth. The congratulatory messages encouraged me to face the great task ahead of me. I would like to ask my fellow honourable Members of Parliament to work with me and other civil servants in my ministry to enable us attain the success we hope for.
Honourable Speaker, as I relay my gratitude, I would also like to congratulate you on your decision to run for the Presidency. (Applause)
