I was born in Sweden but raised in Norway since the age of two. With both a Swedish and a Norwegian parent, I have a great understanding of and speak both languages fluently. However, I only consider Norwegian my native language, as all of my schooling has been in Norwegian.
I started learning English in school at the age of eight. In Norway all english-speaking tv-series and movies are subtitled, not dubbed, which gave me a lot of experience in understanding english in relation to Norwegian. By my teenage years I could easily understand english without subtitles, and I started to read a lot of English books.
I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, specialised in language-education, and I have been a kindergarten teacher for a decade. Through my education I have an understanding of how we as humans, and especially children, learn and utilize language, and how the environment, social interactions and other prerequisites stimulate our understanding and development of language.
I have no translation experience as of yet, other than being a volunteer translator for TED.
