Bio
I am a native speaker of English, freelance proofreader/editor/writer, translator/interpreter (French>English), and a high school French teacher in the U.S. I can also localize US English from UK English as well as I am fluent in both. One of my areas of expertise is proofreading/rewriting documents that have been translated into English by non-native speakers of the language. My résumé also includes 4 published books in which I was the proofreader/editor. I can provide samples of past projects that I have done, if needed.

Since my main area in which I specialize is in proofreading and editing, I can proofread and edit French, Spanish, Italian, and Catalan documents as well. However, English is my preferred area. In addition, I can help you "enhance" your passages to make them more attractive to your audience, whether it is in the fields of technology, legal, medical, the arts, etc.

Some of my projects have included proofreading/editing for the following: automotive manuals (ongoing projects for several companies), professional journal articles on various topics, websites, brochures, various art projects, technical and medical manuals, legal documents, transactions for various government entities, presentations and manuals for companies, autobiographies and biographies, and the localization of UK or US documents for software companies. I have proofread, translated, edited, localized over 1 million pages of text throughout my career.

I am a high school French teacher in Knoxville, Tennessee. I teach French I, II, III, IV Honors, and V Advanced Placement French Language. I have been teaching for over 27 years, but my teaching, interpreting and translation experience is around 28 years. In addition, I lead student and adult tour groups to France, Monaco, and Switzerland, serving as their interpreter and translator as needed during our trip.

My B.A. is in French, with a concentration in French Literature. My Master's degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I have been an interpreter for a French-speaking family from the Congo who  arrived to the U.S. to begin a new life. This led me to become an English as a Second Language teacher at a local church, where I worked with adults and teens from all around the world who are learning the English language.

My translation skills are used and perfected on a daily basis with my students. This allows me to have a vast knowledge in areas such as the arts, entertainment, personal letters, literary works, etc. I do interpretation and translations for our school system, parents, and students as the need arises.

I provide professional work in a timely manner. My goal is to satisfy you and your client and I will work with you to create the perfect document.

Please feel free to contact me at any time...even if you just need a few lines here or there. No job is too big or too small—all are important!
