Powwow: Toronto - Canada
| | Venue suggestions? | Jan 6, 2014 |
I'll throw out the same old ones I always suggest: Granite Brewery (Mt. Pleasant/Eglinton), The Bishop and the Belcher (Church/Bloor), Peridot (Yonge/Bloor), Against the Grain (Distillery), Stout (Carlton/Parliament). Please indicate your preference (or throw a new venue into the mix). | | | Harald Roald Spain Local time: 22:25 English to Norwegian + ... away Im afraid | Jan 7, 2014 |
have fun!
BTW, Peridot has closed down, so probably not a good spot... | | | Gary Wellman Canada Local time: 17:25 Member (2009) Japanese to English Near the subway | Jan 7, 2014 |
Anywhere close to a subway stop is good. Too bad about Peridot, I like that place. If anyone wants to try Japanese food, Fin Izakaya at Yonge and Eglinton is good, but a tad pricey. | | | Venue and time | Jan 14, 2014 |
If we exclude the suggestions that are not on the subway line, only a few remain: Fin Izakaya (Eglinton station), The bishop and the Belcher (Younge and bloor) - and (just added) the Pour House (Dupont station). Timewise, should we go for 6:30 p.m. as usual? Please weigh in!

Lunchtime works better for me because I can get in from Guelph and back by train. I can't do that in the evening. But I realize I'm probably in the minority here.
Of the suggested venues, I would prefer the Bishop and Belcher or the Pour House. | | | Diana Lima Canada Local time: 17:25 Spanish to English
I prefer the afternoon too. I would love to attend but if we change it to the evening I may not be able to as I have a friend coming in from out of town later that evening. | | | Gary Wellman Canada Local time: 17:25 Member (2009) Japanese to English
I vote for the Pour House. I am okay for either the afternoon or the evening, but since it is a Friday I gather most people would prefer the evening. | | | Pour House at 6:30 p.m. January 31st | Jan 15, 2014 |
Since I can't be there at lunch (rarely can), for this time we'll meet in the evening. If someone wants to organize our next powwow for lunch or early afternoon , please feel free to do so. The Pour House is about a 3 minute's walk east on Dupont from Dupont Station. It is spacious and they do individual bills.

I will be driving, does anyone know if there is parking nearby? Thank you. | | | Missing Toronto powwows | Jan 30, 2014 |
I'll send some positive powwow vibes from Manitoulin. Cheers everyone!
There is parking at the nearby LCBO as well as some street parking on Dupont..
(....and Matthew, we miss you too, but Manitoulin, WOW, that's really something)
only 4 of us found the way to the PourHouse on Friday (slightly embarassing, since I had booked tables for 10-12).
I would really appreciate it if you could send a message, even last minute, that you won't be coming. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Powwow: Toronto - Canada Protemos translation business management system |
