This is one incredible poorly designed infographic. I have trouble figuring out what colour coding means what.

The color codes show the regions where the language people are populated most in Canada. so for each language the coverage area is shown.
Like Tamilians in the east, Gujaratis in ON and AB areas, Punjabis in BC and ON area etc.

50% of the residents of Toronto is a lot. Do they mean that they speak it at home still, for any purpose, in their course of business, that they learned it sometime in their childhood and may know it, or something else? Do they speak it exclusively? What about English? Or, do they mean that they speak those languages in addition to English. 50% of the residents speaking mostly languages other than English, in Toronto, doesn't sound right. Or is it a sort of racial profiling?

Indirectly I know the answers for some:
Do they mean that they speak it at home still, for any purpose, in their course of business, that they learned it sometime in their childhood and may know it, or something else?.... These are the migrant population from India, Sri lanka and such other places. Toronto is the most preferred place. Brampton, Scarborough- have predominantly Tamil population. Missisauga, Windsor etc. also have Tamilian populations.

Do they speak it exclusively? Yes. Unless these migrants have to learn English for their work place. That is, the proficiency is very low mostly. 2nd generation migrants go to schools, so they speak English very well.
What about English? .. The new migrants need help in communication. And I do a lot of interpretation for these with Toronto Hydro, Online gaming (OLG), the social services and hospitals, mostly in Tamil.
Or, do they mean that they speak those languages in addition to English?
...Some seem to manage without knowing English, since per law they are to be provided with interpreters in hospital, government offices, utilities etc. scenarios.

This clarifies a lot. It just really seems like a lot for Toronto--50% of people speaking mostly languages other than English, in everyday life. Does anyone have any way of checking if the number is correct--it is hard to believe.
