Later, I studied at FIU's School of Government and became a Zoning Administrator in the City o...f Coral Gables during the mid-80s. I was offered a job in Mexico City when I became a pc instructor, English teacher and in-house translator for the editorial staff at Reader's Digest's (Selecciones de Reader's Digest) Latin American headquarters under the Magazine Editor, Audon Correa, while at the same time founding an English-learning service for executives in Mexico City's metropolitan area. In 1990 I started a construction firm with a partner and also began translating construction contracts and specifications for some of our clients. After a rather serious accident that I suffered during supervision of a job in Acapulco, I stopped on-site supervision and began working as language instructor for Mexico's largest chain of English-learning Academies and part-time translator while continuing to design projects from my home office. In 2003 I began translating full time online and in 2008 I became a member of ProZ.com, where I now also serve as a moderator on the Spanish to English and English to Spanish language pairs on KudoZ. My core competencies include translation, transcription and proofreading in the areas of Design, Engineering, Construction, Automotive, Medical and Legal documents.
