The best way to sum this powwow up is that Ely and I managed to wrest victory from the jaws of defeat!
Despite awful weather, a total of four intrepid translators (in addition to ourselves) made the trip to Bruntsfield for what was a very entertaining afternoon and evening. We were joined by 6 other non-translators, whom we had invited at fairly short notice when we realised how very thin the numbers were looking! A merry time was had by all.
We will run the event again next year, but are keeping the summer barbecue under review for the future, and if turnout from translators is comparable next year, we will consider withdrawing the event in 2019, and keeping just the spring, autumn and winter events.
