Greenhouse gas emissions from all sources are summed up and changed into units of CO2 equivalent which is used to standardize greenhouse gas emissions and help make comparisons from different time periods and across industries. Zusammenfassung
Als Maßnahme gegen den globalen anthropogenen Treibhauseffekt beschloß die Bundesregierung Ende der 80er Jahre, einer Empfehlung der Enquetekommission "Schutz der Erdatmosphäre" des Deutschen Bundestages folgend, die CO2-Emissionen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bis zum Jahr 2005 um "mehr als 25%" zu senken.
