Wikipedia - by Ana Falasca Bernardes
- Example sentence(s)
- Portal São Francisco by Ana Falasca Bernardes
- Ministério das Relações Exteriores by Ana Falasca Bernardes
- UOL educação by Ana Falasca Bernardes

- nationalencyklopedin by Åsa Valley
- SLU, Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet by Åsa Valley
- Wikipedia by Åsa Valley

Den Store Danske Encyklopædi - by Anna Haxen
- Example sentence(s)
- Begrebet ørkenspredning (eng. desertification) vandt fodfæste i den globale miljødebat efter nogle alvorlige tørkeår syd for Sahara i 1970'erne; tørken resulterede i hungersnød og flygtningestrømme og fik stor international bevågenhed (se Sahel). - Den Store Danske Encyklopædi by Anna Haxen
- viden.jp.dk (Jyllands-Posten) by Anna Haxen

- Definition(s)
- The process through which a desert takes over a formerly non-desert area. When a region begins to undergo desertification, the new conditions typically include a significantly lowered water table, a reduced supply of surface water, increased salinity in natural waters and soils, progressive destruction of native vegetation, and an accelerated rate of erosion. CENGAGE Learning
- Example sentence(s)
- In addition to vegetation deterioration, erosion, and salinization, desertification effects can be seen in loss of soil fertility, soil compaction, and soil crusting - DESERTIFICATION OF ARID LANDS
- Common indicators of desertification include a reduction in the amount and diversity of plant and animal species, loss of water-retention capacity, lessened soil fertility, and increasing wind and water erosion. - Desertification
- Desertification creates conditions that intensify wildfires and stirring winds, adding to the tremendous pressure to earth's most precious resource, water, and, of course, the animals dependant on it. - Did you know?
