- Eine Dystopie oder auch Anti-Utopie (von griechisch dys- =un- topos =Ort) ist eine Geschichte die in einer negativen erfundenen Gesellschaft spielt. Häufig wollen die Autoren dystopischer Geschichten mit Hilfe eines negativen Zukunftsbilds vor Entwicklungen in der Gegenwart warnen.
Charakteristika einer Dystopie sind: Mechanisierte Superstaaten nehmen dem Individuum jegliche Freiheiten die Kommunikation der Menschen untereinander ist eingeschränkt und gestört das Bewußtsein der eigenen Geschichte oder eigener Werte gekappt.
