- Il “cloaking” o “IP delivery” è una tecnica che consente di creare una pagina Web "dinamica", che mostra contenuti diversi secondo chi la visita.

- Prikrivanje (Eng. Cloaking) je tehnika prikazivanja drugačije sadržaja stranice web pretraživaču u odnosu na onu koju posetilac vidi. Kada posetilac poseti određenu URL
prikazuje mu se normalna stranica, međutim kada spajder web pretraživača poseti tu istu URL adresu sakriva mu se normalna stranica i prikazuje mu se specijalna prilagođena web pretraživaču.
Razlog za ovu zloupotrebu je prost: specijalno pripremljena stranica prilagođena web pretraživačima je puna ključnih reči, tako da spajder web pretraživača stiče utisak da je u

- Cloaking – prikrivanje koda stranice od konkurencije. U poslednje vreme čest je slučaj krađe izvornog koda stranica koje imaju tzv. high relevancy ranking na mašinama za pretraživanje od strane webmastera sa konkurentnih sajtova. Možda to u našim uslovima i ne znači mnogo, ali u zemljama sa razvijenom Internet ekonomijom neminovno vodi ka gubitku klijenata, a samim tim i profita. Rešenje leži u upotrebi clocking, food ili stealth skriptova. Suština je u postojanju dveju stranica. Prva je vidljiva, ona za koju želimo da je posetioci vide, a druga je nevidljiva za posetioce, ali vidljiva za pretraživače. CGI skript detektuje o kojoj se vrsti posetilaca radi (pauk pretraživača ili korisnik) i na osnovu toga izbacuje određenu stranicu. Prednosti su: sajt se rangira na samom vrhu rezultata pretraživanja, konkurencija ne može da ukrade kod strane jer CGI skript odlučuje šta će i za koga biti prikazano i posetioci ulaze direktno na sajt a ne preko nekih „ružnih” ulaznih stranica. Glavni nedostaci: neki od pretrživača ne vrše indeksiranje stranica generisanih CGI skriptovima, a i cena profesionalih cloacking skriptova često prelazi 1000$. - Svet kompjutera by Milan Djukić
