- Ableizmus je pojem označujúci diskrimináciu na základe telesného, mentálneho, zmyslového, či akéhokoľvek iného postihnutia. Príklady takéhoto správania zahŕňajú, ale neobmedzujú sa na:
uprednostňovanie ľudí bez postihnutia
predpoklad, že postihnutie je viditeľné a ak nie je, jedinec nemôže byť postihnutý
názor, že jednotlivci s postihnutím nie sú plnohodnotnými členmi spoločnosti, príp. musia byť "opravení", aby dokázali fungovať v spoločnosti
