- SARS, or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, is another type of coronavirus. The acronyms itself refers to the illnesses, while SARS-CoV refers specifically to the physical virus. SARS is often used to contextualize the current coronavirus outbreak through the SARS epidemic of 2002 and 2003. That outbreak killed more than 770 people, with most of the deaths occurring in China and Hong Kong. CNN

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) je zarazna bolest koja se prvi put promatrala u novembru 2002. godine u kineskoj pokrajini Guangdong,[1] a postala šire aktuelna od početka februara 2003. godine zbog većeg broja obolelih u Hong Kongu, Singapuru, Vijetnamu, Tajvanu i Bangkoku, od kojih su polovina bili zdravstveni radnici koji su brinuli o obolelima.
