Being too warm the old lady said to me
is better than being too cold I think now
in between is the best because you never
give it a thought but it goes by too fast
I remember the winter how cold it got
I could never get warm wherever I was
but I don’t remember the summer heat like that
only the long days the breathing of the trees
the evenings with the hens still talking in the lane
and the light getting longer in the valley
the sound of a bell from down there somewhere
I can sit here now still listening to it

ذكريات صيفيةوليام ستانلي ميروين
مُسِنّةٌ أَرَدَفَتْ بِالأمْسِ قائلةً
خَيْراً من القَرّ أَجِدُ الحَرّ يا ولدي
وبَيْنَ حَرٍّ وَقَرٍّ أوْسَطُ الأمرِ
بسيطَةٌ لا تقتضي التفْكِيرَ في أَمَدِ
فإذا تَذَكّرتُ بَرْدَ شتاءِ بَلْدَتِنا
تَغَلْغَلَ البَرْدُ للأحشاءِ والكبِدِ
لكنّ ذا الصَيْفِ مِثْلَ النارِ وا عَجَباً
قَدْ كانَ مِنْ قَبْلُ محبوبًا وذا رَغَدِ
عاتَبْتُهُ قائِلاً يا صَيْفُ أينَ مَضَتْ

Source text - English Initially, the Group received support from major organizations which were pioneers in the adaptation of Quality in the region. These were Dubal, Ducab, Emirates Airline, Fedex & McDermott.
What had started out as a simple thought by like-minded & inspired individuals have blossomed over the years to become the leading organization for Business Excellence & Innovation in the region, with support & contribution from the different Board of Directors that have been overseeing the Group’s activities & initiatives. Since then, the DQG has widened its activities to holding annual international conferences, awards, and benchmarking, knowledge-sharing & networking opportunities.
This is a true example of the difference passion driven people can make when supported by a leadership with true vision. Today, the Group has many more such people associated with it through its members, associates, subgroups, and the synergy among these can mean unlimited possibilities in the future.

لقد تلقّت المجموعة في البداية دعماً من مؤسسات كبرى رائدة في مجال مواءمة الجودة على مستوى المنطقة. وكان من بينها شركات دوبال ودوكاب وطيران الإمارات وفيديكس وماكديرموت الدولية.
وهكذا ازدهرت على مر السنين الفكرة التي بدأت بسيطةً على يد أشخاص ملهمين متقاربين في الآراء والأفكار، لتصبح المؤسسة الرائدة في التميز والابتكار بقطاع الأعمال في المنطقة، وذلك بدعم من أعضاء مجلس الإدارة وإسهامهم جميعاً، وهم الذين ما برحوا يشرفون على نشاطات المجموعة ومبادراتها.
كما وسعت مجموعة دبي للجودة منذ ذلك الحين دائرة نشاطاتها، لتشمل عقد مؤتمرات دولية سنوية ومسابقات وأنشطة مقارنات معيارية، إلى جانب إتاحة الفرص لمشاركة المعرفة والربط الشبكي.
إنّ هذا لمثالٌ حقيقي عن الفرق الذي يمكن أن يحدثه الأشخاص المدفوعون بالحماس والشغف، عندما يتلقون الدعم من قيادة تتميز برؤية صادقة. ولدى المجموعة اليوم عدد أكبر من أولئك الأشخاص المرتبطين بها من خلال أعضائها ومنتسبيها ومجموعاتها الفرعية، وإن من شأن التضافر بينهم أن يولّد في المستقبل إمكانيات لا حدود لها.

وإلى جانب عملها كطبيبة وأديبة، تكتب مقالاً أسبوعيّاً في جريدة «الفجر».
وقد بدأت الكاتبة رحلة البحث عن الحرية منذ عصر المماليك الجراكسة، وتحديداً في الفترة من 1382م وحتى 1517م، حين تأخذنا فى رحلة شيقة من بلاد الكرج - أو جورجيا- إلى قلعة الجبل بالقاهرة..
Translation - English Dr. Rasha Samir is a novelist, journalist and dentist. She has published six literary works: Hawadit Arafah (Arafah Tales), Ma'bad Al Hob (The Temple of Love), Hob Khalf Al Mashrabiyyah (Love behind Al-Mashrabiyyah), Ya'ni Eh Ragel? (What Does It Mean To Be A Man?), Banat fi Hikayat (Girls In Stories), and Daweto (I healed him).
Besides her job as a dentist and writer, she is a weekly columnist in Al-Fajr newspaper.
The author sets the beginning of the journey of searching for freedom to be in the Circassian Mamluk era, specifically in the period from 1382 AD till 1517 AD, as she takes us in an exciting journey from Georgia to the castle of the mountain in Cairo.
