Spanish term

perito calígrafo

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Authenticating electronic signatures
Las firmas electrónicas resultantes del sistema de [empresa proveedor de esignatures] son perfectamente peritables por un perito calígrafo, al igual que lo son las firmas manuscritas.

It looks like an expert in authenticating signatures on documents, but is there a specific legal term for this in English? This is based on the Spanish legal system.

Apparently they're using biometrics now, registering the speed, acceleration, and lifting points of the pen on a screen (or at least this one company is doing it)

e-Signatures Electronic signatures in Spain tend to be alphanumeric codes rather than anything resembling a handwritten signature. Years ago, a friend of mine was using a scanned version of his handwritten signature to sign his invoices, but I don't think anybody still does that nowadays (but I don't know, I may be wrong).
Kaelne Koorn (asker) Aug 30, 2021:
Yes! It didn't occur to me to just search "calígrafo," since I thought it was something different. Thanks for your help!

Apologies for first link not working;
Note from asker:
Thanks a bunch! It seemed weird to me to trust in handwriting experts for esignatures, but maybe they're just used for the biometric ones.

(e) Signature specialist

Since it's about e-signature rather than handwritten, anything to do with calligraphy or graphology seems out of place.
You might consider translating the part about "son perfectamente peritables por un perito calígrafo" along the lines of
"can be authenticated by an expert in e-signature,"... or words to that effect.
Example sentence:

Michael M., an East Bay e-signature expert...

The company is now called xxxx, and it has acquired an e-signature specialist...

neutral AllegroTrans : Whilst the person may well be a signature specialist, this is not what the source text actually says
