Arabic term

ناخذ انفسنا بالتسامح

Homework / test Arabic to English Social Sciences Government / Politics Preamble to UN Charter
في سبيل هذه الغايات اعتزمنا

* ان ناخذ انفسنا بالتسامح وان نعيش معا في سلام وحسن جوار

....and they go on to list several others commitments as such.

Do I need to translate انفسنا ?

"Adopt tolerance ourselves", or just "adopt tolerance"?

For this and other questions in this series, please do not send me a link to the English translation of this document, which I am aware exists on-line. This is a homework assignment as part of a course I'm taking, and would like to resolve this without the aid of the finished product.

Thank you!

we ourselves start to act in a tolerant manner

we ourselves start to act in a tolerant manner
or
we ourselves start to embrace tolerance

I think the word نأخذ here means start/begin نبدأ . The context encourages this interpretation. Translated in this way, definitely we need to add the word OURSELVES to the translation.
