Danish term

knudelukning

Danish to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation football construction
Talking about when the 'knudelukning' was replaced by a 'ventil' (valve) where the football is 'closed up', which used to be done with a knot (I assume) from where the leather was sewn.
Is there perhaps a fan/player of football/handball/basketball who knows the technical term for the way the balls used to be finished off? Specific make: SELECT.
Advice appreciated.
