Dutch term

om welke redden dan ook

Dutch to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters everyday colloquial expression
I'm having trouble with translating this turn of phrase into English.

The context is: bijvoorbeeld omdat de patient wordt beademd of hyperventileert om welke redden dan ook

So far I have "for example because the patient receives artificial respiration or hyperventilates.."

but I'm not sure about the structure of the rest and would appreciate some assistance!

Thanks :)

Discussion

Marie-Helene Dubois (asker) May 26, 2011:
Of course! (CJG) There are quite a few typos in the original text which I have corrected as I've gone along but this one wasn't quite so obvious as the rest because the word "redden" does actually exist and most other typos have converted into a totally illogical word!
Now that you've said it of course, it's obvious. Thanks for your help :)
CJG (X) May 26, 2011:
I think you'll find it's reden.

for whatever reason

It's probably a typo and they mean to say 'om welke reden dan ook'.

for any reason whatsoever

I think the source has a spelling error; it should be 'om welke reden dan ook'.
