Not much context: real estate / land or a valuable like a car > so a chattel real in the USA, but an execution or land mortgage or US: lien *foreclosure sale* is surmised, plus 'van' can be either of a thing
- or the property, real or personal, mobale or immovable, had been knocked down / awarded to a court-ordered auction-sale buyer on a date. I can't work it out from the barebones question.

OK, asker, but 1. sale by order of the court is in fact an auction sale, plus 2. it is the property (land) that is 'knocked down' (awarded) routinely to the highest bidder and not the amount that is discounted.

OK, asker, but 1. sale by order of the court is in fact an auction sale, plus 2. it is the property (land) that is 'knocked down' (awarded) routinely to the highest bidder and not the amount that is discounted.
