Discussion

Jonathan MacKerron Jul 12, 2006:
OK, it's cinema technology jargon
Jonathan MacKerron Jul 12, 2006:
a bit more context would help - which country? who's involved etc.?

Just coming in rather late in the day to say that I've just come across this term. It is very much technical 'jargon', and more specifically applicable to photography than video / TV, but perhaps it may be helpful to some future user.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Tony M : Non, il ne s'agit pas vraiment de les 'supprimer' (ce qui pourrait être ambigu) / Note that suppression would be more akin to clipping, which is a subtly different effect.

noircir les zones sombres

J'ai trouvé cette définition sur internet:
Turning dark areas that are not black to black. In doing so, detail is lost and can not be recovered. I have seen people light very flat, then crush the blacks to make some contrast. Lighting with more contrast is better IMHO.

saturation

Bonne chance.
Peer comment(s):
