En fait c'est le mot advocacy qui me gêne. J'ai toujours des problèmes à le traduire. Des idées? Merci

Discussion

Tony M Oct 24, 2010:
advocate = ambassador Here, 'advocacy' doesn't really have its usual force as 'somebody who sticks up for someone else (because, for example, they are under attack)', but rather, the extent to which your customers act as (unpaid!) ambassadors for your business, product, etc.

I.e. there is no issue of 'defending a cause' or 'lobbying' in a literal way. This is a very common buzz-word in marketing, and it really just means enlisting the customers' help to do your job for you ;-)

On retrouve le terme aussi dans la phrase suivante:

Leverage customer advocacy in all key areas of Sales, Marketing, Support and Product Development

agree Tony M : Except I think it might be best to translate it as if it were 'customer advocacy', so it is clearer in FR just who is doing this 'soutien'

Advocacy by an individual or by an advocacy group normally aim to influence public-policy and resource allocation decisions within political, economic, ... Health advocacy - Budget advocacy - Advocacy groups http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advocacy.
neutral Tony M : But this isn't the same kind of advocacy, F-X; this is a more passive kind, it's the bouche-à-l'oreille effect that means "satisfied customers are the best advert for your business", as the old saying goes.

le niveau de représentation/défense (client) par rapport à celui de la concurrence

Considering lysaine's additional information in the discussion, it would seem to me that the best translation for the discussion's point would be "représentation (or "défense") du client.

If the actual question is alluding to that passage or concept, then I think the same translation could apply. If they're simply talking about the advocacy of the company in the area, I would go with along the lines of "représentation de l'entreprise"
