Une ONG fait appel à une entreprise pour changer son système de codification/codage/référencement. Ce qui me gêne le plus c'est "Upon ...to" et le terme "Common" pour "common items". Un peu plus haut, le texte donnait deux sortes d'articles (les "Approved items" et les"Common items").
Voici la phrase entière :**Upon standardization of common items to the status Approved item**, the related (non-standard) common items should be obsoleted. Example: the ‘Communications XXX’ may decide to harmonize the subject radio communication equipment for the movement and as a result one of the common articles may be promoted to an Approved article. In that case all other related common articles may have to be obsoleted. "

Dès qu'un article courant est officiellement approuvé, ...
C'est peut-être trop simplifié, mais c'est un peu plus compréhensible. Je pense en tout cas que "standardization" ne doit pas forcément être repris.
On pourrait aussi dire "Dès qu'un article courant reçoit le statut d'article approuvé", puisque vous dites qu'il y a pour eux 2 catégories d'articles.
