"fee area" is an expression that is in habitual use; I don't see any need to assume a typo - this is not a city park - it's some kind of exhibition, so if anything, it's rather an entrance fee that should be assumed anyway.

: It is very common in National Parks to have fee areas. They are quite cheap though ($3-10) and are usually used for conservation.
