nachhaltige Quellen
Pretty sure the term used is "nachhaltige Quellen"

Nachwachsende Rohstoffe
is the usual expression. The English is normally "REsources", however....

IOW, the trees chopped down to make the paper-pulp are replaced by more quick-growing trees.

erneuerbare Rohstoffe
"nachhaltig" = sustainable, which means they are not used but can be "reused", they are not used up.
IMO "erneuerbare Rohstoffe" is the right term, and there are many examples on Google. Actually, I think the author used sustainable, because that's a trendy word. He probably should have used "renewable", since he is talking about trees.

: trees are not "renewable" in a stricter sense - I wouldn't use "erneuerbar" in conjunction with "Rohstoffe", only with "Energien". (You're right with regard to GooglZ but I've still got some reservations.)

It snot the trees that are renewable in the strict sense, but the resource wood, by growing trees.
