English term
attorney at law or in fact
English to Hebrew
Law/Patents
Law (general)
על פי המילון attorney at law זהו עו"ד, וattorney in fact זהו עו"ד בפועל. האם מישהו יודע מהו למעשה ההבדל וכיצד ניתן לתרגם זאת?
(למנות פירמה כעו"ד או עו"ד בפועל?? נשמע לי קצת מוזר)
בתודה מראש, רונית.

ATTORNEY AT LAW is a person who received the degree and is authorized to do all that a "real" lawyer can and is allowed to do.
ATTORNEY IN FACT is a person authorized representative someone else through Power of Attorney, the authority given to him/her. It can be a Lawyer - or anyone else.
In the US, a notary public does not have to be a degreed lawyer. Anyone: bank clerks, secretaries in mortgage banks or private citizen can be Notaries - AKA Attorney in fact.
