English term

Coachroof

Not for points English to Norwegian Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime
The coachroof is "a raised part of the cabin roof of a yatch" and I am translating for a boat manual. Anyone know how to translate it into Norwegian?

There's a thread in Forums... that has no relevance to this matter, but it's still interesting: http://www.proz.com/forum/kudoz/159340-kudoz_abuse.html

Opting for "Not for points" has the one great benefit that it enables translators to help someone out of sheer benevolence--without expecting anything in return. It feels good, and it lets other readers know this is not only about business, but also collegiality.
gulrot (asker) Aug 7, 2010:
I wasnt aware about the points. Thanks a lot for the information.

Welcome to Kudoz.... So you have just posted your first Kudoz question. You have opted to make it a not for points question, and I just wonder if you know what that's about.
When you post a Kudoz question, it gets relayed to some 100+ linguists. Thee is no reason why any of these should assist you for free, as this might potentially enable you to attract jobs that should rightfully be theirs. If they choose to assist, their sole compensation would be the Kudoz points you bestow upon your favoured answerer. This again has no cash value, but the number of accumulated Kudoz points determines how translators are presented in search results.
Please be advised that opting to make a question a 'not for points' one may well deprive your potential answerers of the only good reason to give you the time of day.

I know this is a normal term. Whether there also exists a more technical term that is less often used, I don't know.
