zóna zachytenia
English term
burn-through range
The system produces very high effective radiative power on inbound targets minimizing their burn through range until they can no longer adjust their flight path to hit the ship (robotechresearch.com)
One of the limits of Jamming that few people are aware of is called "Burn Through Range. Burn Through Range is the point at which the plane's Radar Signature become too large to hide behind a jammer of a given strength and the aircraft can once again be tracked on radar. (abovetopsecret.com)
An electronic defeat, targets the host radar to lose the lock on its target and therefore is unable to pass the required information to the missile. This can be achieved in multiple ways. The easiest way is to have a powerful electronic attack (EA) capability. A jammer pod would be a good option for that, at least to a point outside the burn-through range of the targeting radar.
