Estoy traduciendo un manual de una procesadora térmica (elaboración de planchas). En la parte de Maintenance and Troubleshooting, tengo la sección Nip Impression Test:

Nip Impression Test

This feature is used to check the alignment of the heated roll to the drum during plate development...
Evaluate the impression of the heated roll on the plate. The width of the impression should be the same at both ends and somewhat wider in the middle. The width of the impression at the points 16 inch (40cm) from the center should measure approximately 3/8 inch (10mm). If it is not, then there are adjustments or mechanical checks to correct the **nip**.
