XX Software supports the invocation of Web Services in an extremely straightforward way: The SOAP request-reply activity is selected and configured by accessing a WSDL file and selecting an operation therein. Web service invocations can exist in a business process side by side with service invovations that use XX's proprieatary service description mechanism. Integration between the two is easy because the underlying data model is XML and types are defined by XML schema. Furthermore, data is bound between activities using standard XPath expressions, and transformations to account for data object differences or prepare for user consumption are accomplished during runtime using standard XSLT processing.
