English term

Anaesthesiologist

English to Urdu Medical Medical (general)
I need to say this word in Urdu, I cannot find it on any dictionary I have. Would that be some kind of compound of ماہر (maahir) and تخدیر (takhdeer) or am I completely on the wrong path? Thank you in advance.

ماہر تخدیر/ماہر بے ہوشی/ماہرسُن

You can use the word ماہر تخدیر as some dictionaries suggest this term but this word تخدیر is so archaic and rare (most of Urdu dictionaries do not list it) that reader would have difficulty understanding it.
Alternatively you can use ماہربےہوشی/ماہرسُن as these two بے ہوشی and سُنare popular and easy to understand words.

Thanks
disagree Majid Khan : It is a technical term and should be translated in the same language level. If it is meant for a primary schoo level population then it is OK to use mahir-e-behoshi, otherwise, it is not proper standard term.

Thanks for feedback but you know we have to rely on available words until you or someone else invent new words. It is obvious Urdu does not have that kind of depth and universality as English has so our choices are limited
disagree Tahira Rafiq : Its a technical term, I agree with Majid sahib, and also it should be translated in the same level and depth. Thank you

agree abufaraz : Using same level or depth of a language might be desirable but what if it is understood by an average reader? ماہر بے ہوشی is easily understandable hence commonly used. We are here to facilitate comprehension and not to express our language skills.

Thanks aburiaz Sb, Much appreciated
agree Dr. Muhammad Salman Riaz : IMO, it all depends on the target audience. If they are laymen, then ماہر بیہوشی may be an appropriate choice; in case of the audience belonging to the medical profession or academia, ماہر تخدیر would be a better option.

ماہرعلم بے ہوشی، ماہر علم سن، ماہر علم تخدیر

Anesthesiologist is not just limited to management of insensibility to pain during surgical procedure, but also:
1: management of relief
2: management of cardiac and respiratory resuscitation
3: metabolic disturbances etc
so the knowledge of physiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology is a must for an anaesthesiologist.

agree Majid Khan : Agree. Mahir-e-ilm-e-behoshi is much better than "mahir-e-behoshi". Same is true about "mahir-e-ilm-e-takhdir"

agree Shahbaz Haider : ماہر علم بے ہوشی is best translation i think simple ماہر بے ہوشی doesn't make good sense .

Thank you, specifically medical context and register should be maintained here. This is not a slang or street term, that's why addition of word" علم" is justified here.
