English term

In accordance with and execution

English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
In accordance with and execution of Art. 7 of the Joint Venture Agreement,...

Is the phrasing a bit strange? Should "and" be "the"?

Discussion

Agreed "in execution of..."
meirs Jul 19, 2010:
sounds like abbreviation of "in accordance with and in execution of..." - the 2nd "in" was dropped.

two most probable statements

There are two possibly correct statements, each of which has a somewhat different meaning.

"In accordance with the execution" means that something is being done which is in accordance with the the act of executing or implementing the joint venture.

"in accordance with and in execution" means that something is being done which is affirmed to be in accordance with the joint venture agreement, and is being doing in the execution or implementation of that joint venture.

The difference is whether the accordance refers to the agreement per se, or merely is refering to some action which is in accord with the implementation of the agreement.

So, you are right that something is wrong. The correct way to say this is dependent on you larger context.
