French term

bandeau de couverture

French to English Bus/Financial Printing & Publishing Magazines
This is in a court judgment. The publisher of a magazine accused another of copying the layout of its cover page.

Does it mean "masthead" which I have found by doing some research. It contains the name of the magazine so I don't think it can be "bannner headline" which is another possible translation.

It lists the trademarks it has filed:

I agree the term should be "masthead".
Ben Lenthall Sep 6, 2010:
As you suggest the fact that this contains the title of the magazine, the correct translation would be 'masthead'
