Ok, I have no clue about the marvels of the modern blessings called apps and mods.
In fact when I was young Mods were still human :))
Ok, I am struggling to find the correct phrase for the above headline. Here´s the subsequent (con)text:
Klicken Sie auf das Rädchen-Symbol bei einem der zugeordneten Mods. Es öffnet sich ein Dialog mit Einstellungen zur ausgewählten Zuordnung.
Would assignment be ok ? I don´t own a smartphone but wouldn´t mind if someone wanted to donate a brand new one to me for educational purposes ;)

Note from asker:
Thanks, I couldn´t find much context for configuring categories on the net - I simply couldn´t relate to it, so I went for configure associations. That isn´t to say it might have worked here and might be right. If you´ve got further info on this I´d be grateful . all the best and a sweet May. |

Configure Related Listings
I'm thinking Mods are modules, so one <clicks the wheel-symbol by the related, listed modules. A dialog box opens with the implementation of the chosen listings.>
That's my take on it.

Discussion
Blimey, so we would be talking about "associated mods" for "...zugeordneten Mods..." and "The corresponding mod will be associated with the current view" ? for "Der entsprechende Mod wird dann dem aktuellen View zugeordnet." ? Just to get that clear. Sort of changes the way I imagined/perceived the whole thing.

Phil, this one is yours to put in as a formal answer, you came up with it first.
The main headline of the paragraph is : "My first View"
among others you got subitems like:
Mods zuordnen
Allocate in this context has been said to go too much into the "informatics/ computer science" direction the client said. So I thought about "assign" .
The client proposed "Configure combinations" and Configure Associations" but I thought this to be a little odd.
Really someone with contemporary knowledge in this field would be ideal here.
There are several possible translations for Zuordnung, but I'm still not clear what the context is about. You've said it's a tutorial, but not what for.

'Zuordnen' mostly means 'allocate' or something of that sort.
Here´s another example which may make it clearer.
"Der entsprechende Mod wird dann dem aktuellen View zugeordnet."
It´s from a step by step tutorial.
"Zuordnungen konfigurieren" is a headline
