Software marketing
This term is used by a software producer to describe a series of software tools used to develop networks. I've tried "Toolkit" and "Product line", but they prefer "Tool chain". The only direct Internet Search hits I get are bad translations of other German companys' marketing materials.... They want a term that indicates that the software tools are used sequentially, i.e. at different development stages. What do you think?

Software Development Toolbox
What about "software development toolbox"?
Each software development stage requires specific tools.
PS: I think "series of development tools" is an alternative.

Comment: "My customer would only accept 'software tool chain', but I think this is the best translation, although 'Software development toolkit' has a better ring to it perhaps."

software tool chain?
ARM supplies a CD with an evaluation version of its software tool chain with each Evaluator-7T board. This software may be used for development, but will need to be purchased after the evaluation period is complete.
However, we use (and recommend) a completely free software tool chain, including an embedded, real time, operating system

I think "Toolkit" is the most appropriate equivalent
There is no such concept "tool chain" in English. The term is simple not known to English speakers. :)

Sounds chainy enough to the non-native ear and doesn't hurt native ears.
