Glossary entry (derived from question below)
German term or phrase:
dritter Frühling
English translation:
golden years
I thought of golden years but that is used elsewhere. Can anyone think of a good English equivalent....not heard of or found a reference to 'third spring' which was the translator's choice here...
TIA

I've seen a few references to "Third Spring", but they are all translations of the Udo Jürgens song.
I would avoid going "cute"; e.g., Silver Foxes, Grannies on the Go, or the like.

over dinner, just now, some old friends i haven't seen in ages kept harping about how thin i am. granted i've lost some weight this year, but i think it's just that i got my hair lightened again yesterday. blonde = thin, see?
but just for the record, i am considering adopting anorexia along with the other heralds of my **third adolescence* (the scooter, the hair dye, the abject joblessness, the insatiable coke habit...)

Her 2003 film Clement was a frenzied pop tart about a woman's infatuation with a teenage boy with results that American authorities might call kiddy porn but which at least pretends to pose questions for an age where many seem headed for a second or **third adolescence** while puberty advances at warp speed.

there are those that think it's crazy for a 62 year old to circumnavigate the country alone on a motorcycle, but I think they mostly wish they were as crazy as me. Others have said this trip plus my first tattoo prove that I am going though my second or **third adolescence**.

: Most adults would object to being described as adolescent in any sense other than a playful one (which means that the term could only be used in quotation marks, if at all, in the asker's context).

third age or
"As Steve Weiner discovered, health and longevity have been stretched, creating the possibility of a new decades-long stage of life between the career- and family-building phase and the onset of true old age. No generally accepted term describes this emerging phase, but an ever-growing array of labels conveys its excitement: "the third age," "the second act," "my time," "the second adulthood," and "prime time." All of these are preferable to "retirement," which comes from the Old French word, retyrer, meaning to go off into seclusion."

Linkletter also referred to a new term, second prime, pointing out that the “prime of life” that used to be from 30-50 now has expands from 30 to 75 or 80.
“When I was born in 1912, you could expect to live 45 years,” he said. “Today it’s 75 and going up.

"Golden Years Reinvented" or "Retirement 2.0"
The text above however clearly adresses retirees as its target group and promises to help those who do not want to rest with another rediscovery of the joys of life for which they didn´t have the time so far. The translation of "dritter Frühling" should therefore be something that reflects the notion that retirement can be a chance to start new things like the "Golden Years Reinvented" or "Retirement 2.0" for example.
