highly eccentric mitral regurgitation jet with direction to the lateral wall [of the left atrium]

This is the entire phrase you asked for, including "highly" and "leteral". Need to include it, especially since they mention the term "wall hugger" in brackets.

Eccentric jets imly an organic cause (as opposed to the functional cause) of MR.

Here's my latest proposal:

"Highly eccentric jet directed towards the lateral wall of the left atrium."

Peer comment(s):

agree Marga Shaw : - but with "lateral" instead of "leteral" and "imply" instead of "imly".

Thanks and sorry for the typos, I was rushing
neutral philgoddard : 'With direction to' sounds odd.

The asker can use "directed to" or similar instead, but the point is that it has to be medically accurate and include all details from the source Here's an improved version: "Highly eccentric jet directed towards the lateral wall of the left atrium."
agree Dr. Christopher Kronen : "Directed towards" sounds good to me.

(highly eccentric) wall-hugging jet

English has a term for highly eccentric jets, wall-hugging, which is in brackets at the end. The German has to spell this out in detail, because German readers might not know what the English term means.

Also, the German says 'jet', not 'mitral regurgitation jet'.
There's no need to add 'mitral regurgitation' in the English.

I put 'highly eccentric' in brackets because it's redundant, since that's what 'wall-hugging' means. However, you may want to leave it in, as omitting it might look like a mistake.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Lirka : I agree that "MR" can be omitted, but I do not agree that "lateral" should be left out since hugging jets can also "hug" the medial wall of the left atrium.

It doesn't matter what they hug - they're still lateral.
