German term

Arzt für Frauenhilfe

German to English Medical Medical: Health Care Health Care
From a document about a seminar on emergency situations in gynaecological practice. This is the person running the seminar. Is the above term another word for 'Gynaecologist' for do I need something more general?

agree Fantutti (X) : I like your suggestion. Women's physician sounds a little old-fashioned, just as the German 'Frauenhilfe'. I'm sure though that the good doctor in question is in fact an obstetrician-gynaecologist.

agree tnkw (X) : Is 'gynæcologist' not a Greek form of something along the lines of a 'person who studies the science of women'. It just has a slightly more sophisticated appearance. ;-)
