admit rebuttal evidence to opponent's arguments with same and new witnesses
I believe it means this, cross-examination of witnesses and introduction of new facts and evidence to rebut arguments. I would use the more literal translation as "cross-examination is common-law language of the accusatory system. I don't know whether it is accepted civil law terminology. I will have to check European Communities Court cases.
