From a short story in 'Historiettes' by Kano Taeko. I am translating it for a class and I could not find this word(if it is just one word) in any of my dictionaries.

Are you sure these are right Kanjis? First one means "round", second is "green". Although they don't make any sense when the two put together.
Or the second one is �� instead of ��, then see my answer.

As I noted in "asking the asker", I have a hunch you have picked up a wrong Kanji (if I am not mistaken). It could be 丸縁. The second character 縁 looks very much 緑.
If that's the case, then:
丸 round, or circular
縁 frame, edge
