Norwegian term

Avviksløp

Norwegian to English Tech/Engineering Computers (general)
This is a heading for a paragraph in a software manual that includes this statement: "Det er spesielt viktig å ha egne beskrivelser av avvik der disse er kompliserte for å øke lesvennligheten til normalflyten."

"Avviksløp" appears just twice in Google search, and there is no clear help from that quarter. The irony of using "avviksløp" while trying to "øke lesvennligheten" is amusing but mildly frustrating. I am inclined to translate it as "deviation path".

Does anyone have something better or a reference to confirm my translation?

Mange takk! "Exception path" works very nicely and finds substantial support on google. Please post it as an answer so that I can give you credit for it.
Per Bergvall Apr 21, 2010:
Alternatives For deviation, consider discrepancy or exception, as deviation is - well, deviant. For path, consider flow, route, track, although path isn't half bad. I'd probably land on exception path.

Exception path

Like I said, this would be my choice. Exception is such a simple term, unlike discrepancy, deviation and what not...
