I think there's some hanky panky going on.
In my opinion, although it could be my dirty mind, but I'm pretty certain it's not, oba oba refers to fun and games in a sort of sexual kind of way. Well at least in my part of Brasil it does ;)

That would depend on the context . . My first impression is something like "tico tico no fuba" which would be along the lines of just fooling around . .
However, in this case, since, you said, "se perderam no caminho" it might be translated as . . things got lost in the shuffle or sidetracked . . talk about idiomatic!
