Ok, same person confirmed that it is a type of "debrum" but rolled up. And the spelling is actually "roletê" with an accent over the "e."

I know It's sooooooo annoying not having a picture to look at. I've done other fashion translatons, too, and there's NEVER a picture. By the way, can "debrum" also be translated as "welt" or "welting" (for sofa covers, etc.)?

IMHO, it is definitely piping here. I just can't believe they’re asking you to translate these things without a freaking picture. : - )

Quite honestly, “debrum” and “rolete” can both be translated as trim. The difference is that “rolete” is rolled more like a cord (piping in English) and “debrum” more like a flat trim/border.
The problem is that these people are inventing these names.

If this context you just mentioned also in your translation, it could be "rolled strap" in the first case, and "rolled string" in the last...sound logical?

Yes these are Brazilian bikinis. I just found another context for "rolete"- biquíni c/ bojo liso e arco. calça estampa floral grafitado com rolete liso lateral...
