Marian devotions (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Marian devotions are intercessions to God through the mediation of Mary, the mother of Jesus, or acts of devotions focusing on Mary. Marian devotions are important to the Roman Catholic, Orthodox (both Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox) and high church Anglican (particularly the Anglo-Catholic) traditions; but most Protestants do not accept them as proper

Devotional rites honouring the Virgin Mary
This might be better understood by people not brought up as Catholics.
It's the same here in Tenerife, where the Patron Saint is Mary, the Virgin of Candlemas. It's the ancient instinct to connect with the Earth Mother as the sustainer of physical life, which existed long before Christianity, as expressed in the person of the mother of Jesus.

Marian devotions
Yes, "Marian" as used in the Roman Catholic Church, is the adjective for the proper noun "Mary" and refers to devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Christ. Having been brought up in the Catholic Church, I can clarify that these devotions include primarily the recitation of the rosary and all prayers made to Mary. The devotions also include the celebration of feast days in honor of Mary. (By way of full disclosure, I am no longer a Catholic.)
